A café in Kreuzberg, a hair salon in Potsdam, a trades business in Spandau: local businesses don’t need reach across all of Germany. They need the attention of people in their area – exactly when those people are looking for what they offer.
Video helps in three places: in your Google profile, on Instagram and on your own website.
The Google profile: the first impression
Anyone searching for “hairdresser near me” or “restaurant Prenzlauer Berg” first sees the Google results with map, reviews and pictures. For many customers, that’s their first contact with your business.
What’s often missing there: current pictures of your own. A profile with three old photos looks abandoned. A profile with recent photos of the rooms, the team and the work looks alive. Upload new pictures and short videos regularly – they show that your business is active.
Instagram: reaching the neighbourhood
For local businesses, Instagram is less about followers from all over the world and more about people nearby. A few tips:
- Add your location. Tag your location on posts.
- Show local connections. Your neighbourhood, your street, your regulars (with their permission).
- Post regularly. An account that has been silent for months looks like a closed shop.
- Use Reels. Short videos often reach people who don’t follow you yet.
The website: where the decision is made
After Google and Instagram, many customers check your website before they call or drop by. A short video on the home page showing what it looks like at your place and who works there says more than many words.
Which content works for local businesses
A look behind the scenes. How is the food, the haircut, the repair made? Processes are interesting because customers normally don’t see them.
The team. Local customers often come back because of the people. Show who works with you.
Seasonal and new things. A new menu, a new offer, new opening hours – a short video turns it into more than a line of text.
Answers to typical questions. Do I need to book? Is there parking? How long does an appointment take?
The time problem
All of this sounds like a lot of work – and it is, if you try to do it on the side. For many local businesses a single bundled shoot day is the more realistic solution. On a Content Day we come to you for one day and deliver 8 Reels + 40 photos or 10 Reels. The photos go straight into your Google profile, website and feed; the Reels last a month.
We shoot in Berlin and Brandenburg. Travel within Berlin is included in the price; in Brandenburg we charge €0.80 per kilometre.
Conclusion
Local visibility is created where your customers search: in your Google profile, on Instagram, on your website. With your own, up-to-date pictures and short videos you show that you exist – and why it’s worth coming by.
